The Corridor People ran for only four one hour episodes in 1966, yet has garnered a considerable underground cult following. Incredibly difficult to pigeonhole, reviewers have mentioned the likes of The Avengers, Twin Peaks and even Monty Python as reference points. However, it is none of these as it carved its own niche, with its mainly-studio recorded monochrome production, a few filmed inserts, and a combination of surreal characters and camera work. Rest assured that once seen it will never be forgotten. Phil Scrotty is an American, Bogart-worshipping private detective, and each episode sees him pitched against the cunning schemes of Syrie Van Epp, a beautiful but treacherous Persian millionaire. |

You won’t see many, if any, reviews in the mainstream of “American Conspiracies” by former wrestler Jesse Ventura. It’s selling well in the USA, and yet newspapers and magazines prefer not to mention that it even exists. Why would they try and starve Jesse and, by consequence, his new book of publicity? You can, of course, just shrug your shoulders, say it’s one extreme coincidence, and that there are other books in the bestseller charts that aren’t reviewed. If you believe that, I have some seafront property in Switzerland you’ll be interested in. The simple fact is that Jesse is dangerous because he’s an individual. He follows the evidence to its logical conclusions. And what he discovers in this book is that we are simply not being told the truth on major incidents in American history. The content of the book, its undeniable presentation of facts, and our media’s refusal to address the evidence presented means only one thing: our entire media, worldwide, is compromised and cannot be trusted. |

“Blood River” is a taut psychological thriller set in the dusty Nevada desert, where people have dark secrets to hide. Clark (Ian Duncan – “Creep”) and Summer (Tess Panzer – “Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes”) are a loving, married couple. On a road trip to see Tess’ parents, they suffer a dramatic blow-out and crash their car in the middle of nowhere. To make matters worse, bizarrely their spare tire has gone missing. They set off on foot to the only settlement in range – the ominously named “Blood River” - but find it deserted. The dishevelled array of rusty shacks and mobile homes offers nothing to relieve their pressing hunger and thirst. Their only hope lies in Joseph (Andrew Howard – “I Spit on Your Grave”, Band of Brothers), a mysterious man in a black cowboy hat and leather jacket who they spotted earlier, hitchhiking along the road. |

Fast-paced, expertly told capers from the other side of the Atlantic return exclusively to Bravo from Wednesday 28 July at 9.00pm. Gang leader Nate Ford (Oscar-winner Timothy Hutton) gathers the Leverage group once again to seek revenge on the wealthy and wicked. Not only that, but the series returns with some ‘Cult’ stripes to its name, as its first season is one of the nominees for the “Best New Premium Channel Series” in this year’s Cult TV Awards. Those of you who like Hustle will love this show. The Leverage team of renegades includes British beauty (Gina Bellman of Coupling and Jekyll fame) as Sophie Devereaux, a grifter with a taste for expensive art (or, at least, its theft) whose feminine wiles turn most men into putty in her hands. Eliot Spencer (Christian Kane) stars as the show’s rough-diamond lothario with a heart of gold, a highly skilled martial artist, weapons guru and retrieval expert. Added to the mix is expert thief, cat burglar and pickpocket Parker (Beth Riesgraf) who lives solely for the thrill of the con. The team is completed by the technology expertise of the master computer hacker (Aldis Hodge, Friday Night Lights) as Alec Hardison. |
